Description
Most parents and educators realize that their children and students are unique individuals that have different needs. Teaching the concept of equity to children can help reinforce the notion that fairness does not always mean that everyone gets identical treatment. Use these classroom activities to help students become aware of the objects, policies, and practices that help them succeed and stress that having different needs does not make someone better or worse than others.
These five activities have been developed to use with students in grades 4 through 6. Included are worksheets, discussion questions, and reproducible templates.
Emelia Understands Equity is part of the Chicorée Elementary Stories for Success series and is recommended for these classroom activities.
An email address must be provided to obtain the activities!
