Description
Students will understand the importance of completing their work even when it becomes difficult, they will also learn to identify how zest can influence others.
For this exercise, from ZEST: Live It! Activity Guide, candy will represent zest and enthusiasm. Explain to students that zest is like candy in many ways, it tastes good, puts people in a good mood, attracts others, and sharing it spreads happiness and fun! After discussing and emphasizing how easy it is to spread zest when just one person displays it, hand out the "It's So Sweet! worksheet to your class. The worksheet will allow students to exhibit grit by calculating how quickly a positive attitude can spread while learning to complete a task.
This exercise is recommended for grades 4-12.
